Date visited: January 8nd, 2010

Price of Guinness: 6 bucks, although I ordered a Hoegaarden which Mariel convinced me tasted like Hot Dogs, which in turn ruined the beer for me. (I switched to blue moon in the cool tall glass after.)
Rating: 4/5
I have mixed feelings about the Village Pour House. Sometimes I go and its awesome and sometimes its crowded, douche-y, and awful. Luckily, this was a really fun time. Jeff and I ventured over from the Copper Door Tavern to meet Mariel and her friends from Providence for a couple drinks.
We got a table in the front and ordered drinks, hanging out, reminiscing about high school, catching up and sharing stories ( I should point out that I think this was probably fun because I stayed out of the douche-infested back club area). Then, out no where, I see another familiar face. Cory Brine and his girlfriend had stumbled in to have a few. Cory and I shot the breeze for a few more minutes. Im pretty sure he was really wasted because he couldnt come up with a coherent reason as to why he was in NYC that particular night, but whatever: Jeff ordering French fries with enough garlic to kill the entire cast of Trueblood, Mariel getting us a free cab ride, and finding out which guy maggie thought was the most attractive in the place.
The night spilled into a house party for a quick pregame before heading back out to the bar Turtle Bay, but after spending a rough week at work and long night drinking, I ended up being a sissy and packing it in and not going out. If I only make it to 199 bars this year, we can all point to this as my epic failure.
Bars left to visit: 195
